- Post a WIP post to Piazza. Format the subject line: Name (AndrewID) Assignment (#) WIP
- Include JPEG or PNG screenshots of your work from a few different angles so that we can clearly see what's going on
- Make sure the mesh is visible and un-smoothed (1)
- Include a small description of what you're doing, and any areas you'd like advice/critique on
Due Monday, Jan 30, 11:59pm
- Take a look at your peers' WIP posts on Piazza and comment on at least 3 with constructive feedback (the earlier this is done after WIPs are due, the more helpful it is to your classmates)
- Watch these tutorials (preferably before class)
- It is the best to get your work done or halfway done before Thursday's class, so you can get enough feedback.
Deliverable
Due Monday, Jan 30, 11:59pm
- Introduction to Box Modeling
- Model three objects in Maya: something organic, a hard surface model, and something (prop, bust, etc) that has to do with your character.
- This assignment is meant as an exercise. If you end up making something you feel is usable in your final character, that's great! If not, this will still be good practice in figuring out how to box model and a great first try at your character.
- Export your files in an obj format and submit to the class Box folder
- Naming Convention: <andrewID>_asst<assignment #>_v<version #>.<file format>.
- Example: catheril_asst3_v2.mp4
